Situated in the heart of Kalumbila District. Previously part of the larger Solwezi District, Kalumbila was formed from Solwezi West Constituency and Mushindamo, formerly Solwezi Central and Solwezi East, respectively. Strategically located off the Solwezi-Mwinilunga road in Mumbezhi Ward, Kalumbila Town Council spans an area of 5,252 km² (2,028 sq. mi) with a population growth rate of 2.8% per annum. The district is divided into 12 wards and 4 chiefdoms. As a mining hub, Kalumbila boasts two prominent mines: Barrick's Lumwana Mine and FQM Trident Foundation's Kalumbila Mine, driving economic growth and development in the region.
